Beautiful pictures. I am intrigued by the old highway bridge which was partially demolished after the new bridge was built. Just checked on line. Maybe it will be that way forever? Bottom remains for railway use; government wants to discourage drivers from trying to use the top highway section of the old bridge so it was detached from land. But it sure looks awful. Hope the situation is eventually resolved.
We lived up river from Bath in Days Ferry during our early married years. One good days, and when the current was in my favor, I'd row to work in a dory we got as a wedding present. Wish we still had it. The night-time view from our bedroom of the Iron Works' lighted cranes swinging this way and that made it seem like we lived in a land of giant dinosaurs.

ReplyDeleteGreat pictures. We are very familiar with this scenery, as we pass through it twice a year on our way up to visit my husband's family. --Holly in PA
