White Flannel Sheets

Photos by Salt Water New England
White flannel bedding is like having crisp, white sheets without the crisp.

Still working through the stockpile, bought over ten years ago.  The price was right.

  1. Lucky you! I remember Garnet Hill when they first started. I still have a couple of their bed linen sets and duvet covers -- yes, they were wonderful.

  2. We shift to flannel sheets with "fall back" at the latest, but usually keep them on until well after "spring forward." We can usually enjoy flannel until almost Memorial Day here.

  3. Our family has happily used these Signature Flannel Sheets for years. They are without a doubt, the best, warmest, and most fairly priced bedding out there.

  5. All of my bed sheets are vintage heavy muslin (when found they were still in the original packaging) that I purchased at estate sales over the years. They are extremely comfy, soft yet crisp. I like crisp. However, this post reminded me of how much I also like flannel so I may need to purchase some.

  7. Garnet Hill was a boutique purveyor of fine bed and bath linen; they began their business in 1976. The flannel bed linen shown in the photos, made in Germany, was typical. They used to also offer hand loomed wool blankets & throws made in New England by artisans. Eventually they began to offer apparel too, along the same lines. I have a beautiful hand loomed scarf with an open weave pattern from those days. Not sure about the timeline, but at some point they were bought by a large conglomerate with distrubution channels to Home Shopping Network.

  8. The funny thing is these sheets are made in Germany, yet many expats end up lugging such bedding back across the ocean as it isn't to be found over here!
