  1. Lichen is interesting in all it's forms, and everything it grows upon seems to grow more lovely. As my husband and I often plan our meals around wild game, we are recently blessed by a bounty of caribou from an animal harvested in an area of Canada in which the grazing is confined to lichen. With careful removal of the sinew, the flavor of the meat has been surprising; The lichen giving a slight hint of liver to some cuts and the flavor of beef steak to others.
