L.L. Bean's Scotch Plaid Flannel Shirt in Dress Gordon

Made in El Salvador
New for Autumn, 2017, L.L. Bean will be offering their Scotch Plaid Flannel Shirt in Dress Gordon, arguably one of their best tartans to date, a list that would include Black Watch (still available) and Dress Campbell (never available).
A quite nice shade of a bright Navy.

  1. What's old is new again. I'm glad they brought this tartan back.

  2. I can't forgive Linda Bean for her support of Trump; or her inability to separate "America First" from the fact that few American businesses have made more money offshoring American jobs than L.L.Bean. No more L.L.Bean for me, thanks.

    1. Thank you for your statement. It's important to know what we know, and not subscribe to slogans. I hope they have profit sharing (big time) at LL Bean for the people that enclose signed cards "made by..." with orders of canvas totes - one of the things in inventory still made domestically.

    2. Anonymous @ 9:32, I agree with you. I haven't spent any money at LL Bean since learning about Linda Bean. V disappointed because I really liked their long sleeved t-shirts, women's flannel, and on and on.

    3. I was blissfully unaware of her political shenanigans, however I've long been dismayed by Bean's offshoring. I've been buying my plaids from Tradlands instead and this year I'll be trying Vermont Flannel for the first time. If anyone has any experience with them I'd love to hear about it.

    4. I made the switch to VT Flannel. Twice the quality. Same price as Linda's Chinese version. LL Who?

  3. I totally understand! But it's hard to find affordable classic clothing. By the way, the links don't work for me.

  4. I used the links and it does not look like LLB is offering Dress Gordon currently.

  5. I didn't see it either, but I still ordered three of the other ones...Thank you for the links!

  7. Isn't the photo showing the Dress Campbell pattern? I thought Dress Gordon was a red pattern...

  8. Voting with your pocket book is a respectable avenue of expression and I find there are many things that weigh on my own choices anymore. However, I'm becoming a fan of some of Bean's products as well as their return policy. They're getting my un-anonymous vote.

  9. My fiancee bought Grey Stewart last fall to add to his collection. We're very happy with their plaid tops, plus they come in tall sizes. (Incidentally I just noticed I'm a top 500 reviewer on L.L.Bean. I think maybe I spend too much time on this?!)

  10. Love their plaid shirts. I can never say enough positive things about their customer service. Regarding their 30% off coupon, I spotted a nice jacket that went on sale, used my 30% off and some L.L.BEAN coupons which gave me the jacket for a song. Thank you L.L.BEAN. May your political views be your business.

  11. I have a collection of these Bean tartan flannel shirts. I buy a new one each season if they offer something I don't yet have. Mine go back to my college days, when the arms were much fuller and the cuffs were rounded rather than squared. I find that the flannel is the same on the newer ones as on the older. I will be watching for the Dress Gordon to become available, as when I purchased mine a number of years ago, although called Dress Gordon, what I got did not have the correct Dress Gordon sett.
