  3. When we moved from the Mid-Atlantic to Northern California, we were not that mindful about the possible ramifications of our window-enclosed south-facing mud room. It's sunny about 50% of the time, even in the dead of winter - that plus higher than normal temperatures that first year resulted in our coming home one day to our waxed jackets having become rather 'tactile'. It was a pleasant education to know that these well-made jackets do not melt, otherwise the other garments hanging cheek by jowl would have been a sight to see.

  8. Timely post. I just said to myself yesterday that I'm ready for fall. It's been rainy and buggy here in Vermont, and most Vermonters prefer the cooler weather. Nice jackets and woolens, as pictured above, also make for a welcome reprieve from the heat.
