Khaki and White

  1. While I like a white shirt with my khaki pants, my wife thinks a light blue OCBD with khaki pants looks more " classic" so, In this case, I generally dress for her.

  2. Never mind the khaki and white, is it that handsome man again?

  3. Oh there he is again! I hope he knows he has a secret admirer!

  4. I'm a county commissioner in a small rural mountain county in Colorado. Normally I wear blue denim Wranglers with a white or blue OC western shirt. My "dress uniform" is a white shirt and khaki Wranglers. All starched and pressed of course. You're as sharp as you feel.

  5. Just got a white seersucker shirt to go with my khakis. You can't get much "cooler" than that.

  8. The sexy farmer again! He needs a PBS series, like POLDARK.

  9. Speaking of khakis, where can I buy nice khaki colored pants for women this year? I am looking for something dressy enough to wear to work, not cropped, maybe in a nice polished cotton. Availability in white, navy, or black would be good too. Business casual, not weekend wear. Didn't see anything at Brooks Bros, the first place I think to look for pants of this style. Would love some suggestions from you and your readers.

    1. Ah, the ongoing challenge to find well-fitting khakis! Last year, I finally lucked out at, of all places, Garland Hill. Nice, all cotton fabric. Well made, with a comfortable but not baggy fit. Not too high on the waist, but not low-cut. Went back recently to order more...they've been 'improved'. Now they have embroidery (!!) on the edges of the pockets and lycra has been added to the fabric. Should have ordered a dozen last year!

    2. Bitsy, do you mean Garnet Hill in New Hampshire? I can't stand when companies do that. When they have a good thing, they need to leave it alone. I always say - if it ain't broke...! There must be an audience for embellished fashion; embroidery, rhinestones, glitter and such but I, for one, see it and run for the hills. Plain and simple says it best! Menswear for women is a hard find. Ralph Lauren used to pull it off but I'm seeing less and less of it these days.

    3. Yes, that was a typo. I meant Garnet Hill. They've been my source for sheets and towels for years, so I decided to try their khakis last year. They fit like the perfect pair I had many years ago, but have never been able to replicate, until these. Fortunately, I did get 2 pairs.

  10. I'll take his khakis...I mean, I'll wear what he's wearing. This is my first exposure to Mr. Handsome. At first I thought it was Colin Firth in the garden. Drool wiped, back to khakis. Sigh.

  11. Khaki and white - YES. Absolutely. Nothing says summer like a woman in a while blouse, khaki shirt and white Keds. That was the summer uniform for just about every woman I knew growing up. It's rare to see that now. But when I do, it always brings a smile to my face.
