  1. How I envy your being able to wear all these cold-weather clothes. I live in Atlanta (where it has been in the 70s a few days this January!) and I have winter-clothes envy. I get my fix from reading your blog. My favorite thing though is seeing all the simple, classic New England homes. Oh, and since it's winter, maybe you can do an afternoon tea blog. Just a suggestion . . . . I once went to a cute tea at a B&B in Lyme and sat by a small fireplace while someone played a harp. Very nice indeed.

  2. My favorites right now are O'Connell's cashmere gloves:

  3. I purchased a pair of Dents gloves last winter with a tweed panel on the back - I believe it is the Westwood model.

They add a bit of 'rus in urbe' when worn with a topcoat and scarf, and are surprisingly warm for being dressy and thin - must be the cashmere lining. The leather is supple and have held up well (as they should, given the price).

  7. Thank you for the suggestions and links. The selection at Dents, in particular, is quite stunning. What started out as a quest to replace a lost pair of sheepskin gloves may turn into a shopping spree!

  8. I found exquisite shearling lined leather gloves from Orvis - the details are suggestive of higher priced designer versions. They are especially warm and are available in black and brown.
