Standing and Staring

  1. Sounds like that idiot in the White House today, staring up at the eclipse without protective glasses.

  3. Every time I see a graveyard I am reminded: "Gather ye rosebuds while ye may, Old Time is still a-flying; And this same flower that smiles today Tomorrow will be dying" Carpe Diem!

    1. You made me think of 'To His Coy Mistress' by Andrew Marvell: "The grave’s a fine and private place, But none, I think, do there embrace."

  7. Reading the Herriot books inspired me to be a veterinarian. Going to Ag School cured me of that ;)

  8. Wonderful, restful, engaging post. Growing up in England I always took the dogs for 'walkies' in the parish cemetery. Seeing these photos brings it all back, albeit with a different look to the foliage. Many thanks, you just made my day.
